Newman Wachs Racing Returns to Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Siegel and Shields to make their Grand Prix of Indianapolis debuts

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (May 8, 2019) – Newman Wachs Racing will make its return to the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway this coming weekend for Rounds 3 and 4 of the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship. Australian Cameron Shields and American Nolan Siegel will make their Grand Prix of Indianapolis debuts on the track’s challenging 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course. Both drivers are looking to better their St. Pete results, targeting solid top-10 finishes and valuable points in the championship.

“After having two months off, I’m really looking forward to getting back to the track,” offered Brian Halahan, NWR Team Manager. “I know Nolan and Cameron have been using this down time to go over data and video from last year’s Indy GP, with the focus on further improving their racecraft. I think we’re going to do quite well at the Indy GP and I look forward to seeing the outcome.”

NWR’s drivers will be on-track starting on Thursday (May 9) with a pair of test sessions followed by an official series practice. On Friday (May 10), they will compete in two qualifying sessions as well as the first race of the Cooper Tires Grand Prix of Indianapolis doubleheader. On Saturday morning (May 11), Siegel and Shields will run the final on-track session with Round 2. Fans can follow along all weekend on the Road to Indy TV app, or through www.roadtoindy.tvor Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Facebook page. Newman Wachs Racing will also have dedicated coverage of their weekend on all their professional social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).
